Case Study
JMCGH Physicians Tower & Parking Garage
Challenge
The Medical Center Physicians Tower, part of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and owned by West Tennessee Healthcare, was built with an aggressive schedule and multiple trades working consecutively on five floors. The Center needed a skilled mechanical, electrical and plumbing partner that could provide a quality project and adhere to the tight schedule. S.M. Lawrence Co, a Comfort Systems USA (CSUSA) company, was ready to help.
Solution
The S.M. Lawrence Team:
- Provided a large number of skilled employees and supervision on each floor to meet the schedule and provide the owner with a quality installation.
- Was requested by the hospital to the General Contractor, Cogdell Spencer Erdman.
- Have proven they are the “go-to” contractor for challenging projects. S.M. Lawrence has since performed other projects for the owner at this facility.
A Closer Look
S.M. Lawrence won this project in March 2009 through a good relationship with the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and owner West Tennessee Healthcare. CSUSA worked with general contractor Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN and provided heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and electrical services for this five story medical office building and clinic.
The $6,800,000 project that S.M. Lawrence completed at the Medical Center Physicians Tower included: variable air volume (VAV) systems; multi-zone systems; plumbing; electrical; and Trane® controls.
The new Medical Center Physicians Tower is a significant addition to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. The Tower represents a strong commitment from their physicians to the future healthcare needs of the people of West Tennessee.
